Adoption Laws
Adopting and placing parents need to know about state and federal laws governing adoption. Find information about consent to adopt, advertising law, and other laws that differ from state to state, as well as laws that affect all U.S. adoptions.

Adoption law is state law, and this includes laws covering the release of identifying and non-identifying information, and access to original birth certificates.
